AI Chinese Tutor ("we", "us") helps you practice spoken Chinese with AI characters. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

• Voice and conversation content. When you make a call, your microphone audio and the resulting text are processed in real time to generate the character's spoken replies.
• Learning data. Your chosen display name (optional), self-reported level, interests, and short conversation summaries used to personalize future chats ("memory").
• Usage data. Basic app usage such as call duration and which characters you talk to, used to show your stats and enforce the free-trial limit.

How we use it

• To provide the core service: real-time speech understanding and voice responses.
• To personalize characters' memory of your past conversations.
• To operate subscriptions and the free trial.

Third-party processing

To generate speech and responses, audio and text are sent to our AI model provider (Alibaba Cloud Model Studio / DashScope) for processing. Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We do not sell your personal data.

Data storage & retention

Learning preferences and conversation summaries are stored to power the memory feature. You can clear all stored memories at any time in Settings → Clear learning memory. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored data on your device.

Your choices

• Clear your memories anytime in the app's Settings.
• Decline microphone permission (voice features will be unavailable; you can type instead).
• Request deletion of any server-side data by emailing us.

Children

AI Chinese Tutor is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
